Stress is something that touches all of us. This world is incredibly taxing and unless you live in a bubble removed from any and all external stimuli, you have been exposed since birth to situations, people, and experiences that demand your energy, try your patience, and require you to interact and respond to things outside of your control. For some, you even experience stress BEFORE birth.

The majority of us are plagued with the long term effects of stress without an awareness of it because it’s labeled as other issues. There are four main sources of stress…environmental stress, social stress, physiological stress, and emotional stress. All of these erode our health and wellbeing from the inside out. Things like heart disease, obesity, diabetes, skin issues, digestive problems, depression, anxiety, respiratory infections, sexual dysfunction, and autoimmune diseases have been linked through research to chronic stress in the body. And the list goes on.
So you see, stress may actually be a much larger chronic condition in need of attention and treatment. Learning stress management strategies to manage it effectively and to prevent further damage is imperative not only to your survival but to live a happy and healthy life.
